Empty Bowls

October 15, 2019 @ 11:00AM — 1:30PM Eastern Time (US & Canada)

The basic premise of Empty Bowls involves local artists, restaurants and community volunteers working together to fill empty bowls in their communities. Guests are invited to a meal of soups, breads and desserts from an array of local restaurants (stick to one or indulge in as many as you would like!). In exchange for their ticket stub, guests may pick out a handcrafted bowl, made by a local artist, as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the world. The money raised is donated to the Wichita Falls Area Food Bank, where it will be used to feed hungry people right here in our community. Empty Bowls began in Wichita Falls in 2012 under the leadership of Paula Perkins and Leslie Schaffner. The Steering Committee, Wichita Falls Area Food Bank, Donors, Artists, Restaurants, and Volunteers gave selflessly to raise funds to make sure fewer bowls go unfilled in our community.
